Quilts History

Expert quilter Vicki Garnas talks about some of the quilts she has made, such as one that she started a week after surviving an earthquake. This history-recording quilt shows the family's many experiences just before, during, and after the earthquake. In keeping with the outcome of a real earth-shaker, the quilt uses a "Broken Dishes" pattern. Vicki supplemented the quilt with dimensional embellishments such as yo-yos and gathered ribbon bows.
