Figure F
Materials:

square of paper the same color on both sides

Steps:

  1. Valley-fold (see tips below) and unfold the square diagonally in half (figure A).

  2. Again, valley-fold and unfold in half (figure B).

  3. Valley-fold through the center, bisecting the indicated angle (figure C).

  4. Valley-fold in half, closing the heart card (figure D).

  5. Round out the heart edges by reverse-folding the left corner and mountain-folding the other three on the front and back (figure E).

  6. The heart card in now complete (figure F).

    Tips:
When following the illustrated figures in each step, be sure to:
  • hold the paper in the same position as shown in the diagram.

  • make all the indicated valley-folds or mountain folds. Valley-folds form ravines (indicated by dash dash dash marks in the figure). Mountain folds produce ridges in the paper (indicated by dash dot dot dash marks in the figure). A mountain fold is a valley fold from the other side of the paper.

  • follow the arrows. They point to where the paper should end up.
  • always look at not just the step you are on, but also ahead to the next step for which you are aiming.
  • make all folds as sharp and precise as possible.
