basic quilling instructions for rolling paper strips into various shapes

Steps:

Note: Quilling strips should be cut in widths of 1/8 inch unless otherwise specified.

  1. To make a flower, glue together six sky blue, three-inch shaped marquises using basic quilling instructions to fashion the marquise shapes. Add a soft ivory three-inch tight circle for the flower's center. Make two flowers.

  2. To make three more flowers, glue together one rust-colored, three-inch shaped marquises and two rust-colored, three-inch shaped marquises. Add a green half circle for a calyx.

  3. Glue together five coral-colored, three-inch teardrops, then add a rust-colored, two-inch loose circle for the flower's center. Make three flowers.

  4. Fringe four, three-inch lengths of cadet blue out of 1/4-inch wide paper, and three, three-inch lengths of pale peach, 1/4-inch width pieces of paper. Roll each into a fringed flower.

  5. For greenery, roll scrolls using green paper varying in length from 1-1/2 inches to 2-1/2 inches.

  6. Sketch the outline of a circle, flower, heart, etc., on a 5-1/2-inch square mat board, filling the space (figure A). Arrange the paper flowers and greenery made in the first five steps along the outline as desired and glue in place.
