Carol Duvall loves to recycle things, including color copies of photographs and scraps of wallpaper. She suggests using the adhesives listed below with your favorite papers to produce some very colorful and creative boxes.
Materials:
paper bags
fusible webbing
tissue
hot glue
hole punch
fabric
raffia
Steps:
- Draw a picture on paper and cut out.
- Trace picture on fusible webbing and cut out.
- Iron webbing onto a swatch of fabric. Cut out pattern. Iron on bag.
- Decorate the bag with buttons, bows, bells, and raffia.
- Add gift, then fill bag with tissue, fold down top, punch holes, tie with raffia, or attach Velcro to close the top of the bag.
Other ideas:
- Use an old map as wrapping paper.
- Use plain paper and then rubber stamp favorite images on the package.
- Recycle the colored comics section from your Sunday paper as gift wrap
