Project designed by Debra Anderson.
Materials:
turtle stamp
card stock
gold embossing powder
heat gun
deckle scissors
clear embossing ink pad
pigment ink pad
alligator clip
Pop Dots adhesive
Steps:
1. Ink the turtle stamp with clear embossing ink and set it aside, resting it on the ink pad.
2. Cut a small square piece of paper a little larger than the desired size of the end piece.
3. Using any color of pigment ink, ink the entire surface of the paper on one side.
4. Attach the alligator clip to the paper and dip the piece of paper into a bowl of gold embossing powder.
5. Heat the embossing powder until it is melted and hot.
6. While the embossing powder is still hot, dip the paper into the gold embossing powder bowl again. Heat and repeat two more times.
7. After the fourth heating and while the embossing powder is still hot, stamp the turtle into the molten embossing powder. Leave the stamp there for 30 to 45 seconds or until the embossing powder has cooled completely (figure A).
8. Trim all four edges of the paper with deckle scissors (figure B).
9. Tap the edge of the paper onto the pigment ink pad, then into the gold embossing powder (figure C).
10. Heat the edge just long enough for it to melt, then repeat until all four sides are finished.
11. Put pop dots on back of paper and stick it onto the larger card (figure D).
Tips:
- Work over a piece of scrap paper to keep the embossing powder off the work surface .
- Use stamps with simple lines and little detail.
