Card #1

Materials

twisting spatter brush
glossy white card stock
rubber stamps
brush art markers
cleaning tray
calligraphy ink
cleaning rag
spray bottle of water
stamping mat
scrap paper to cover work surface

Steps:

1. Cover the work surface with scrap paper.

2. Prepare the background using rubber stamps, stipple brushes, a rainbow sponge or other technique.

3. Dip the spatter brush into calligraphy ink. Tap off the excess ink. Hold the brush a few inches above the paper. Move the brush around while turning the wooden brush handle to splatter the entire surface of the card (figure A). Allow the ink to dry thoroughly.

Materials:

stipple brushes
Marvy matchable ink pads
Post-It notes
white glossy card stock
sticker paper
Dee's Duets rubber stamps
Posh corner set
newspaper background stamp
Marvy brush art markers
accent pens
cleaning tray
cleaning rag
spray bottle filled with water
scissors
stamping mat
scrap paper to cover work surface

Steps:

1. Cover the work surface with scrap paper.

2. Apply a Post-It note to white or lightly-colored card stock (figure B).

3. Apply ink to a stipple brush by dabbing it on the ink pad.

4. Dab the inked brush onto the card and repeat until the desired color intensity is achieved.

5. Move the Post-It note if desired (figure C) and dab the card stock with another with another color of ink.

6. Color the rubber stamps with brush markers and stamp onto sticker paper.

7. Cut out the images, leaving tiny white edges. Apply them to the card.

Card #3

Materials:

Blo-pen
glossy white card stock
rubber stamps
brush art markers
cleaning tray
cleaning rag
spray bottle filled with water
stamping mat
scrap paper to cover work surface

Steps:

1. Cover the work surface with scrap paper.

2. Prepare the background of the card using rubber stamps, stipple brushes, rainbow sponge or other techniques.

3. Remove the Blo-pen cartridge from the storage position and place it tip-first in a blow tube. Replace the cap, aim down onto the card and blow through the cap.
