Materials:
paper mache box
Decor It ink - black
vellum paper
Color It pigment ink pad - metallic
toothpick
Adirondack embossing powders in assorted colors
Heat It embossing tool
Steps:
- Paint the box with the black Decor It ink, and set it aside to dry.
- Ink the vellum sheet with the metallic Color It ink.
- Pour the powders in small mounds onto the inked vellum.
- Use a toothpick to drag through the colors, causing them to mix (figure A).
- Heat the powders with the embossing tool.
- When the powders are fully melted, tilt the paper to create veins or a webbing effect (figure B).
- Wait a few minutes for the powder to cool then peel off the paper, and crack it into different-sized pieces.
- Place the pieces on top of the box in the desired pattern then heat them with the craft tool (figure C).
