Materials:
acid-free rubber cement or book glue
craft knife
ruler
12" x 16" decorative paper for cover
7-1/2" x 11-1/2" colored paper for lining
large sheet of heavy paper for pages
8" x 12" illustration board or cardboard for cover
36" ribbon
color copies or small photos
photo corners (optional)
Steps:
1. Cut two 6" x 8" pieces of decorative paper. Cut two 3-3/4" x 5-3/4" pieces of contrasting paper for book lining.
2. Cut two 4" x 6" pieces of illustration board or cardboard.
3. Cut a 3-3/4" x 30-3/4" strip of heavy paper.
4. Cut two 18-inch pieces of ribbon.
5. Glue board to center of decorative paper.
6. Cut corners off of decorative paper and wrap remaining edges around board and glue.
7. Fold a 1-inch flap at the end of the strip of heavy paper. Continue folding strip in accordion fashion, making each fold 5-3/4 inches long. A 1-inch flap will remain at other end
8. Glue liner paper to end flaps of strip.
9. Center ribbon on wrapped board and sandwich between board and liner paper using glue. Repeat on other side.
10. Glue color copies in book or adhere photos with photo corners.
