Guest Sandi Genovese's pop-up School Days scrapbook page is a fun way to display a child's age progression through the use of chronological school photographs displayed on a single page. Many components of this project were made using an Ellison die cut machine. Materials:
assorted colors of plain and patterned paper - any desired color scheme
Ellison multiple pop-up die cut
Ellison pencil and crayon die cuts
Ellison school bus die cut
stickers
scissors
acid-free glue stick
photocopies of school photographs of child
black paper
gold paper
white pencil, silver pen or white marker
Note: Although die cut machines are not generally available for public purchase, they may be found in many local craft and hobby stores. These machines are terrific for creating crayon and pencil cutouts, apple cutouts, and pop-up cards with exact cuts. If an Ellison die cut machine is not available in your area, use scissors to cut your own shapes.
Steps:
- Either have paper cut at local craft store with a die cut machine or cut your own pencil and crayon cutouts, school bus cutout, and pop-up card cutout.
- Embellish the cutouts with multiple colors of paper and stickers.
- Glue background paper to the edges of pop-up card cutout. This is to cover the outside of the card and hide the pop-up cuts until the card is opened.
