Project demonstrated by Sandi Reinke.
Materials:
two shark vertebra
two China Sea starfish
sheet of Eurorap paper - peach #26039
sheet of Calypso paper - persimmon #27246
fiberfill stuffing
thread
sewing machine
hot glue and glue gun
stuffing tool
scissors
Steps:
1. Distress the paper until it is soft and pliable.
2. From the paper, cut out two, 4" x 3" half oval-shaped pieces for the frog body (figure A).
3. From the paper, cut out four, oblong, oval-shaped legs measuring 3-1/2" x 1 -1/2".
4. Place the right sides of the frog body cutouts together and sew, leaving a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Leave the bottom open for stuffing (figure B).
5. Carefully turn the body and stuff it, then glue the opening closed (figure C).
6. Place the right sides of the frog legs together and sew, leaving a 1/4-inch seam allowance. Leave an opeing on the inside of the leg for stuffing.
7. Carefully turn the legs right side out and stuff the legs without overstuffing (figure D).
8. Hot glue the legs to the frog body, angling them out from the sides of the frog (figure E). At the bottom of each leg, hot glue the China Sea starfish for the feet (figure F).
9. At the top of the head, glue the two shark vertebrae close together for the eyes (figure G).
Set a group of these frogs on a piece of driftwood for a decorative touch.
