This rubber-stamped glass vase was designed and demonstrated by Barry Freestone, owner of Rainbow Glass Paints.
Materials:
Rainbow Glass self-adhesive film
Rainbow Glass water-based glass paints, diluted with water
Rainbow Glass 3mm twin-strand self-adhesive lead with antique finish
rubber stamp
permanent ink pad
no. 2 paintbrush

Steps:
1. Stamp your design on a sheet of self-adhesive film using a permanent ink pad (figure A). Make sure that you fill the entire sheet with the stamped images so as not to waste any film. Allow the image to dry completely.
2. Dilute glass paint in desired colors and paint in each stamped section (figure B). Don't paint adjacent sections at the same time as they will bleed into each other. Paint all the areas of one color first, let dry then proceed with another color until finished.
3. When the design is complete and fully dry, cut around the edges of the design with scissors.
4. Clean and dry the vase. Remove the backing sheet from the film to expose the sticky side and apply directly to the vase (figure C). If the design is not in the correct position, remove and re-position it. Try not to touch the sticky side of the film too much.
5. Cut self-adhesive lead to the right length and remove the backing sheet to expose the sticky side. Place it decoratively around the design as you like (figure D); this is really subjective, so have fun with it! Note: Make sure to wash your hands after handling the lead.
6. Press the lead down with a wooden peg or pencil to help it adhere to the glass.
