Materials

Decor-it paints - discontinued
soup plates
charger plates

Steps:

Soup plate (figure A)

1. Working on a flat surface, apply a quarter-sized drop of a selected paint color.

2. While the drop applied in step 1 is still wet, apply a drop of a contrasting color in the center of the first drop.

3. Add a smaller dot of the first color inside the second dot to create bull's-eye (figure B).

4. Continue adding more bull's-eyes to the surface of the soup plate, adding more concentric rings (figure C).

5. Alternate the color patterns and number of rings to create more looks.

Charger plate (figure D)

1. While the white paint is still wet, place droplets of a third color in evenly-spaced patterns over the surface of a plate, then use a stylus to lightly spread the dots into the wet paint, creating a series of stylized flowers or leaf patterns (figure E).

2. To make flowers, create a paint circle around a large drop of a fourth paint color. Use a stylus to draw from the outside of the circle toward the center of the tile, creating evenly-spaced petals (figure F).

3. To create a swirled border, make small droplets of paint near the outside edges of the tile. Using a back-and-forth motion, draw a stylus through the dots, connecting each dot (figure G).
