Figure A
Materials:

satin finish base coat (Clam Island 2B-1) and top coat (Putting Green 5G-4) (both must be satin for this technique)

tape measure
pencil
long level
blue tape
roller and cover
rubber window squeegee cut to look like saw teeth (figure A)
paper towels

Steps:

  1. Mark off 30-inch panels (continue around corners with measurements if necessary). Lightly pencil-in vertical lines with level. Mark every other panel with a small piece of tape to distinguish them--you will begin the technique in the opposite ones. Tape off panels.

Figure B
  • Fill area in with paint and pull squeegee vertically through the wet paint as straight as possible (figure B). Clean squeegee as needed to remove excess paint.

    Figure C
  • Pull squeegee horizontally through the wet paint as straight as possible(figure C). Overlapping strokes provides a unique effect and hides imperfections.
  • Once the first group is complete, remove tape while still wet. Once dry, tape-off panels again and repeat steps on incomplete areas.
