  • To bottle and store homemade pasta sauce for future use or gift giving: Top off each sterilized bottle of sauce with 1/4 to 1/2 inch of olive oil, cap tightly and refrigerate. The sauce will keep for several months. (Make sauce in the summer to enjoy in the winter.)
    * Note: The oil replaces air in the jar, so nothing oxidizes or spoils.

  • Before baking picture handprints (see project 4), poke a hole at the tip of the middle finger. After baking, tie a ribbon loop through it. This way it can be used as an ornament.
