Pumpkin Pooch
Susan created this adorable "pumpkin dog" with several pumpkins and a lot of creativity. She started with a large pumpkin for the dog's body, leaving the stem attached to serve as his tail. She then attached small pumpkins for the feet, a two-toned squash for the head and gourds for the ears. She inserted long wooden picks through the pumpkins and gourds to hold everything in place. A craft foam tongue and wiggle eyes bring the dog’s face to life, while a dog collar gives him some canine personality. Susan created the dog for her own enjoyment, but entered it in a pumpkin contest on a whim and won first prize.
