Puffed (Supplementary design provided by Rosemary Carsello)

1. Choose the theorem design desired and select a properly sized wooden hoop. Loosen hoop and place inner ring on top of fabric. Cut out two squares approximately two inches larger than the inner hoop--use ruler to mark square. Guest Rosemary Carsello likes to use a calico or print fabric for the back piece.

2. Center fabric squares on top of inner ring, place outer hoop on the top, and tighten the clamp. Keep fabric surface within hoop smooth. This process will create a circular crease. Loosen hoop clasp and remove the fabric. Set hoops aside.

3. Fold circular crease in quarters to find center point. Gently squeeze the center point with fingers and lay fabric on a flat surface.

4. Use the center point crease to position theorem stencil layer #1 on the fabric. Secure stencil with masking tape.

5. Follow theorem painting instructions for Fabric Application and complete the theorem image. Allow oil paints to set-up for at least 48 hours before handling. If the hoop is to be stained, painted or finished, do that now and allow the treated wood to dry thoroughly.

6. Using the inner hoop as a template, cut out a circular piece of batting to that size. Apply white craft glue to outer edge of inner hoop. Smooth glue with a damp paintbrush or finger. Using the circular crease in the painted piece as a guide, place fabric on top of the inner hoop.

7. Place outside hoop on top and clamp into place. Pull on the edges of the excess fabric to remove and wrinkles or pulls in surface fabric.

8. When the glue is thoroughly dry, cut away the excess fabric from the back of the hoop with scissors, craft knife or blade.

9. In addition to the previously mentioned embellishments, the "puffed" theorem can be quilted, if desired.
