Anyone who has visited Portugal is familiar with Arraiolos rugs. Many grace the floors of historic buildings and private homes in the United States. The rugs are actually huge pieces of needlework, stitched on canvas with a special long-legged cross-stitch in heavy yarn. The Sew Much More cameras visit Patricia Stone, author of Portuguese Needlework Rugs, who has charted 13 original designs and is leading the movement to bring this needle art to the U.S.
