Narrative Embroidery

Jean Matzke uses traditional embroidery stitches to create nontraditional works of art. Applique, reverse applique and top stitching are other techniques she frequently uses to add further dimension. Each piece is a picture that tells a story and with the exception of machine topstitching, the pieces are constructed entirely by hand.
