Quilt Artist

Originally trained as a commercial artist, Colleen Hathaway creates one of a kind wall hangings and framed fabric art from fabrics she hand-dyes in brilliant colors. "I use fabric like an artist would use paint" says Hathaway.

To create amazing imagery on quilts, she machine pieces bits of fabric together, then cuts them up again to piece into a quilt. Hathaway also incorporates applique, embroidery, and objects such as buttons, wood, feathers and fringe to add dimension. The results are fabulous.
