1 skein #362 Scarlet
a few yds. #332A Dark Brown
Crochet hook, size H, or size required to crochet to gauge
Green felt, 6" square
Button ring, 1" in diameter

Size: About 4" deep

Gauge: 4 sc = 1"

Apple:
With Scarlet, ch 20.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across-19 sc. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2: Working in back loops only, sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 3 through 32: Repeat Row 2. At end of last row, fasten off.

Finishing: Sew starting ch edge to last row to form a tube. Working from wrong side, weave a length of Scarlet around one open edge; draw tightly to gather and secure (top of apple). Using a long length of Scarlet, weave yarn around remaining open edge; center yarn (bottom of apple). Turn apple to right side.

Hanging Ring:
With Dark Brown, sc over button ring until button ring is filled.

Assembling Apple: Glue leaves to top of apple; glue Hanging Ring to center of leaves. Insert ball of string. Draw bottom closed and tie a bow to secure bottom.
