Project designed by Lacey Oldham.
Flower bobby pin
Materials:
bobby pin
28-gauge wire
clear nail polish
seed beads
Steps:
1. Cut 20 inches of 28-gauge wire. Secure the wire to the bend in the bobby pin. Slide one seed bead onto both wires. Wrap both wires to the back of the bobby pin and then around to the front again.
2. Thread six beads on the left wire, pushing the beads all the way up the wire. Thread this wire through the first bead of the six. Pull the wire tight to make a circle. Make sure all the beads are pushed to the top of the bobby pin (figure A).
3. Put a contrasting bead on the same wire. This will be the center of the flower (figure B).
4. The bead that the wire came out of to form the circle will be bead #1. Counting from the right side down, the next bead will be #2, the next one down #3 and then #4. Place the end of the wire into the fourth bead, going from the top of the hole on bead #4 to the bottom of the bead. Push the center bead into the circle of beads that formed the flower. Pull the wire tight.
5. Wrap the wires around the bobby pin to the back one time and then bring the ends to the front. Add one bead as in step #1. Repeat the flower steps until you have the desired amount of flowers on your bobby pin. Wrap both wires around the bottom of the pin and cut them off. Secure them with clear nail polish.
