Enamel artist Jay Lentz was born in the Midwest, but after a stint on the west coast he finally wound up in what he considers the creative center — New York City. He and his wife, Elissa, manage a Brooklyn building where they live and have a studio space. He got involved in enameling as an art form after collecting vintage enamel plates and then taking an enameling night course with his brother. After finding a used kiln, he began experimenting with his own style and enjoys creating new designs.
