Steps:

1. Measure and mark an 8-1/2 inch square on foam core with a pencil.

2. Cut foam core shape using metal edge ruler and craft knife, working over a protective mat. To ensure accuracy, make first cut only part way through the board's thickness, then make a second and third cut if necessary to cut through the board (figure A).

3. Cut a 9-1/4 inch square of embossing metal with Metalworks scissors.

4. Rub metal surface with fine sand paper in a circular motion to create a brushed aluminum appearance. Be sure to wear your safety glasses!

5. Cut an 8-1/2 inch square of scratch paper and fold in half twice to form 4 sections. Fold each section into thirds. Cut the corners off in a curved shape so that paper roughly becomes a circle. Clip off the center fold point to form an open circle (figures B and C).

6. Use the circular paper pattern, T-square ruler and chalk to mark the clock's center and number placement on the metal piece and space markings 3-1/2 inches from the center of the clock (figure D).

7. Secure tool stickers at the -3, -6, -9 and -12 positions, and 2 screw stickers over marks in between tools (figure E).

8. Burnish each sticker with your fingertip to adhere edges securely.

9. Place metal, face up, on craft foam and emboss an outline around each sticker with the pointed end of the wood stylus.
