Project by Lisa Lamoreaux from Renton, Wash.
Lisa likes to incorporate her artwork into beautiful lampshades and nightlights. She uses a nightlight base and small frame to house transparent images of her artwork. Plug it into the wall and light up your artwork!
Materials:
nightlight base
nightlight frame clamp
3-1/2" x 5" lucite photo frame
transparency film
image to transfer
white self-adhesive shelf liner paper
tissue paper
epoxy cement
Steps:
1. Create a piece of art or use a photo image and transfer to transparency film with a color copier. Art should be the size of the frame or smaller.
2. Cut a piece of shelf-liner the size of the frame and peel off the protective backing to expose the adhesive side up.
3. Attach the transparency image, ink side down, to the adhesive side of the shelf-liner.
4. Attach decorative tissue paper to frame the image so that there is no white from the liner showing.
5. Trim the edges of the tissue paper to the size of the shelf-liner (and frame).
6. Insert the finished collage art piece into the frame.
7. Glue the frame to the clamp with epoxy.
8. Slide the clamp onto the night light base and tighten.
