Ladder Shelving Unit

Materials:

old ladder
scrap plywood
drill
screws
hammer
1/2" dowel
tack cloth
paint or stain
paintbrushes

Steps:

1. Remove the front rungs if necessary and sand the ladder. Wipe off dust with a tack cloth.

2. Cut three pieces of scrap plywood in graduated lengths (the longest one should fit across the bottom, and so on).

3. Slide the shelves through the existing slots in the ladder and line them up on top of the back support pieces. Screw the shelves in place.

4. Cut two 10-inch lengths of dowel and screw them to both sides of the ladder toward the top.

5. Create a hanging bar for blankets with another length of dowel and secure it to the side dowels.

6. Rub the entire piece down with a tack cloth to remove any remaining sawdust or dirt. Then paint or stain as desired.
