Here's a trade secret from interior designer Susan Welch Heeney from Nashville, Tenn., on creating outdoor living spaces. Transform your patio, deck or porch by using some of the same decorating tricks that you use in your house. Add an area rug in a weatherproof acrylic fiber to define the outdoor "room." To make your seating more inviting, use cotton throws and pillows that are easily washed. Don't forget to add the finishing touches such as magazines, statues and plants. But rememberb??&safety first! Keep electrical items, such as lamps and appliances, indoors.
