Materials:

6" x 6" unglazed quarry tile
black permanent ink
Sweet Stampen’s "tropical beauty" stamp #rc3082
dark brown chalk
chalk applicator
colored pencils
assorted seashells
green moss
hot glue gun
heavy metal hanger
matte sealer
industrial-strength silicone glue
small cork circles or squares (for back protection)

Steps:

1. Wipe off tile to remove dust and any dirt. A damp cloth will work well. Let dry.

2. Ink stamp with black permanent ink. Center on tile and press image in place (figure A).

3. Color hair using dark brown chalk and chalk applicator.

4. Color eyes with white and yellow-green colored pencils. Dress is turquoise, flower and lips are red-orange with lemon yellow center, and highlight cheeks with pink (figure B).

5. Lightly spray colored image with a matte sealer.

6. Hot glue seashells and moss around tile’s edge (figure C).

7. Glue hanger on the back with industrial-strength silicone glue and let dry overnight.

8. Place cork circles on back of decorated tile to protect the wall (figure D).
