6 yards Lace-it! trim
2 Add-it! patchwork heart appliques
10 Button-it! decorative connectors

Steps:

1. Position a heart applique in the center of each plain square (figure A). Iron to fuse appliques permanently to squares using an iron on wool setting. Cover the appliques with a press cloth of fabric scrap. Apply steady pressure with iron and hold in place for 15 to 20 seconds. Allow to cool and test to make sure they are completely fused.

2. Cut the Lace-it! trim into 12- to 16-inch lengths and save the remaining 20 inches to create loop at the top for hanging.

3. Overlap the top edge of one of the pocket squares over the bottom edge of one of the plain squares. Thread a length of trim through the needle and connect the two squares by threading the trim through the two center buttonholes (figure B), leaving the sheer pocket free. Tie the ends of the trim into a knot and bow.

4. Overlap the top edge of the remaining plain square to the bottom edge of the connected pocket square and thread a length of trim through the center buttonholes. Tie the ends into a knot and bow.

5. Overlap the top edge of the remaining pocket square to the bottom of the connected plain square; thread a length of trim through the center buttonholes, leaving the sheer pocket free. Tie the ends into a knot and bow.

6. Insert Button-it! decorative connectors at the corners of each square by buttoning plain back button of each Button-it! through the buttonholes in both layers of the squares (figure C).

7. Thread the remaining 8 lengths of trim through the center side buttonholes of each square. Tie the ends into a knot and bow.

8. Thread the remaining 20 inches of trim through the top center buttonholes. Pull a small loop of trim up at the back to use as a hanger loop. Tie the ends of the trim into a knot and bow (figure D).

9. Insert small toys and baby accessories into the pocket squares (figure E). Hang the organizer from the top loop.
