Materials:

Walnut Hollow doll furniture - chair, playtime table, etc.
Fun-to-Paint tools - rollers, fun sponges, jumbo dotters
Folk Art paint - fresh foliage, bright pink, school bus yellow,lavender, titanium white
Designs from the Heart wood sealer
sponge applicator
spray varnish
paper plate
paper towels
water container
sandpaper

Steps:

  1. Apply one coat of wood sealer to all surfaces. Allow to dry, then sand lightly.
  2. Base coat with two coats of titanium white, sanding lightly between each coat.
  3. Apply background using fresh foliage color and Fun-to-Paint roller of your choice.
  4. Using sponges, dotters and any desired colors, decorate the doll furniture.
  5. Spray with two to three coats of spray varnish.

Critter Furniture

Materials:

Walnut Hollow wooden critter furniture - picket chair, chairs and benches of your choice
Plaid Decorator block shapes - leaves
#1 liner brush
medium flat brush
palette paper
sponge applicator
Plaid glaze paints
White Lightening by JW Etc.
glue
optional: two small "half-pots" - clay pots
scrap of foam or floral oasis to fill pot
small branches
water container
paper towels
sandpaper

Steps:

  1. Using the sponge applicator, apply one coat of White Lightening to the entire picket chair. Allow to dry, then sand lightly.
  2. Using the flat brush, apply glaze paint colors to the block leaf shape. Place block on the chair surface, press back of block with fingertips, then lift from the surface using small handle on block. Repeat on surface area wherever a leaf is desired.
  3. Use liner brush and a leaf color to paint stems onto leaves.
  4. Using your finger, apply paint to all edges of the chair.
  5. Glue clay pots in place on the bench or chair front if desired. Fill with foam to hold branches. Glue moss around the top of the pot.
