J. Forest Ocean Bennett is one of the few licensed female submarine pilots. She first worked for the Navy and then moved to Hawaii to work as a submarine pilot for a tour company. Her life changed on 9/11, when submarines were no longer allowed to be used for tourism in America. Out of a job, she regrouped and dove into art for therapy. She says art helped her to bounce back. When she’s not in her art studio, she works as an airplane pilot. She also loves to rock climb and teach her two parrot’s new words.
