The Carol Duvall Show camera crews visit glass artists Gregg Mesmer and Diane Bonciolini, who pool their efforts in art glass production to create their award-winning work. Their functional art is some of the most unique dinnerware ever. Mesolini dishware is created from hand-rolled, iridescent colored glass that is "slumped" into ceramic molds during a kiln firing. The distinctive "cut-off" edge results from incorporating inherent unevenness of the raw glass. Each piece in this collection is signed, dated and numbered.

Mesmer and Bonciolini demonstrate the steps for making a collection of platters. Each partner has distinct roles in the process. Bonciolini chooses the glass and the eventual shape of the platter. Mesmer cuts the glass to match the unusual and interesting shapes. Next, they load the glass in the kiln for firing. Once cooled the electric colors seem to glow with energy.
