Materials:
Fimo polymer clay:
- beige, flesh or champagne for head
- black for hair, shoes and body
- white for the sneakers
- ready-made canes for dress and sleeves
- ready-made polymer clay face if available
- optional black seed beads for eyes
wire eye pins
needle tool
tissue blade
glass or plastic rolling pin
round nose pliers
wire cutters

Steps:
Doll Head and Body
- Condition the clay.
- Form head by rolling a small ball of the beige/flesh color clay.
- Flatten a small amount of black clay with the rolling pin to about 1/16" thick and cover the head to make hair. Shape the black clay around the face for hair. Use the needle tool to etch texture lines in the hair.
- Place two black seed beads for the eyes into the clay face. To create a nose, make a tiny ball with the face colored clay, then add it to the face. For the "O"-shaped mouth, poke a hole with the needle tool.
- To make the body, shape a piece of black clay into a 1-1/2" oval shape.
- Slice ready-made canes into 1/8" slices for the sleeves and dress (kimono). Press the slices onto the body. Cover the body with the canes, then add the sleeves.
- Using the needle tool, make a continuous hole through the head and body, then insert the head pin from the top of the head to the bottom of the body.
- At the bottom of the body, insert two 1/2" long eye pins. Note: Once the clay has been baked, you'll take the eye pins out, add glue and reinsert.
- Bake the doll at 265-degrees for 30 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool.
Sneakers - Condition clay.
- Flatten clay to 1/8" thickness.
- Stack black and white clay. Stack four layers of alternating colors to create the shoelaces.
- Slice a thin slice for the shoelace.
- Make a white snake and cover with a sheet of black, then a thicker sheet of white to create a black and white bulls-eye cane.
- Position the shoelace slices cut in step four onto one side of the black and white bulls-eye cane. Shape the slices into the shoe form by pressing down and reducing the cane.
- Cut two thick slice of the cane to create the shoes. Shape each into a shoe form.
- To connect the shoes, insert the needle tool into the center of the shoe for the eye pins.
- Bake in 265-degree oven for 30 minutes.
- Position eye pin through the hole and connect to eye pin of the body.
