19. Paint the branches using raw umber as the base color and two colors of green for the leaves. Wipe away excess paint with paper towels. Let dry.

20. Apply a coat of lacquer or polyurethane to the garden bird sculpture to seal it. Let dry.

21. Place the "Garden Bird on a Schtick" on top of the exposed rod at the top of the tree.
