16. Press the top of the steel rod into the clay on the underside of the bird and remove it to create a hole for displaying the garden bird.

17. Wrap the bird in aluminum foil and bake in a 250-degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes. Remove the bird from the oven, open the foil and let it cool.
