Materials:

small spiral notebook
round ink pen
small stapler
clear ruler
assorted small beads with or without holes - Art Accent
Redliner double-sided tape - Scotties
Redliner double-sided tape shapes - Scotties
smooth cord - optional
sheet of paper to make pattern

Steps:

1. Trace the shape of the notebook on the plain paper and cut it out. Trace the pattern onto the double-sided tape sheet and cut out.

2. Peel off the paper backing from the tape and place it on the notebook. Peel off the tape (figure A).

3. Pour the beads over the exposed tape and press them into the tape. As another option, lay the cording down in a random design (figure B), pour the beads over the tape and press them into the tape (figure C). Remove the cording and add a contrasting color of beads to the exposed tape. As a third option, place double-sided tape shapes to the first layer of tape (figure D), pour on beads, press, lift the shape liner and pour on a second color of beads (figure E).
