Colorful Mosaics

The Carol Duvall Show cameras visit Karen Silton, an artist known for her colorful mosaics, teapots and murals. Silton demonstrates the process of creating her unique and playful mosaics. She starts with a sketch transferred to a wet slab of clay, then cuts the images out and texturizes them with a clay gun and slip. Once dry, Silton paints all the tiles with an under glaze and then fires the pieces overnight, builds the wooden frame for the mosaic and begins placing the tile.
