Figure B
Field reporter Joe Zanger visits oil painter Timothy Martin, who creates unusual paintings of furniture and other accessories, such as a wicker couch made of ferns and a settee made of daffodils.

Figure A--Martin's paintings take a familiar sight and place it into a familiar form--furniture shapes. Look at this magnificent settee of daffodils. His first painted piece exploring this theme was a wingback chair made entirely from wings with three eggs sitting in the seat. The scenes he creates are fantastical, but every detail is realistic.

Figure B--Getting the details right, such as these finches sitting on a bench of aspen, are what makes Martin stand out in his field. He expects an evolution in his work soon, such as with other classic forms like the Rolls Royce, using the same theme of getting inside the perimeter of an object, then reinterpreting it.
