Figure A--Bottle caps, shells, feathers and pearls are seemingly unrelated items until McElroy obtains them. She constantly collects items of all sorts, then brings the pieces together as if putting together a puzzle.

Figure B--All of the art that McElroy creates is of a very personal nature. She never knows what each piece will eventually become or even what mood will strike. Sometimes a piece can be whimsical and laughed at and at other times a serious mood pervades her work.

Figure C--A lot of her pieces have one wing (look closely at the bird wing to the right of the Native American's face). This symbolizes incompletion and searching for the complete self. Each individual piece starts with man-made materials but is the product of human ingenuity.
