Joe Zanger introduces woodworker Greg Coston, who makes some incredible humidors.

Figure A--Although Coston's humidors certainly serve the purpose of keeping cigars fresh, he began his hobby of creating them to push designs forward. He was intrigued by the various types of wood, grain patterns and inlaid wood he encountered as he created the humidors.

Figure B--With this box, Coston incorporated his admiration of Meso-American Indian Art to create a language that anyone could follow. The patterns represent mountains, ocean waves and sky.

Figure C--Creating a balance between beauty and purpose is what keeps Coston coming back to his workshop. By utilizing Spanish cedar on the interior and installing a humidifier and gauge, he creates a humidor that can keep cigars fresh up to 10 years and still be beautiful enough to be featured in any room in the home.
