Hand-Painted Compact and Eyeglass Holder

When Chamain isn’t busy working for the Chamber of Commerce, she’s busy using her painting skills to help serve women in a very important way--accessorizing. In these projects, she shares two of her many painted and beaded handbag accessories--a compact and eyeglass holder clip.

Materials:

small paint brush
1/2" to 1" soft bristle paint brush
fabric paint or paint for plastic (in squeeze bottle)
poly-acrylic clear coat
crystals (Swarovski or a copy like Czeck)
tweezers
paper towel
water
plain accessory/case of choice (compact, etc.)

Steps:

For the lady with a hat on the compact:

1. Paint face and neck. Paint hair.

2. Paint hat and dress, then lips; then paint hat and dress trim.

3. Add a feather and polka dots in hat.

4. Paint the sunglasses frame and scrollwork. Add sunglass lenses.

5. Glue stones on hat, for a necklace and earrings, and on compact corners. Use tweezers for precise application.

6. Coat front of compact with poly-acrylic clear gloss using paint brush.

1. Paint shoe insert. Paint shoe sole and heel.

2. Place crystals in heel using tweezers.

3. Paint sandal straps. Paint bow on strap.

4. Place crystals in bow.

5. Coat front with poly-acrylic clear gloss using paint brush.
