Simple Summer Towel Tote

Pack up your beach stuff for a day of fun in the sun with this easy-to-make towel tote. So easy to make, even a beginner can do it!

Materials:

two outdoor fabrics
grommets
grommet setting tool
nylon cord
thread
sewing machine
scissors or rotary cutter
buttons, beads, etc.

Steps:

1. Cut two rectangles of outdoor fabric, the larger one for the tote and the other for the pocket.

2. Hem edges and fold over 1 inch at each end of large rectangle (figure A).

3. Attach grommets evenly spaced across both ends (figure B).

4. Hem edges and decorate pocket as desired with buttons and beads.

5. Place pocket on right side of tote and sew along both sides to attach (figure C).

6. To make handles, use nylon clothesline cord or vinyl boating rope and tie through grommets (figure D).

7. Add cord to center grommets to make a tie closure for tote (figure E).
