Materials:

sterling silver sheet
10-gauge sterling round wire
gold sheet
sharkskin
mini brass screws
jeweler's saw
ring sizing anvil
steel wool
solder
acetylene torch
220-grit sandpaper
drill
brass screws

Steps:

1. Saw two rectangular pieces out of sterling silver and saw flames out of the gold sheet (figure A).

2. Draw heart pattern on one of the rectangles (figure B).

3. Saw heart out of the middle of one rectangle (figure C).

4. File heart.

5. File and sand gold flame.

6. Texture gold with hammer.

7. Measure finger with a ring sizer.

8. Form 10-gauge wire around ring anvil at size measured for band (figure D).

9. Cut and file band.

10. Clean metal with steel wool, flux and solder band to the solid rectangle (figure E). Fuse gold to the other rectangle (with the heart cut out) (figure F).

11. Mark and drill holes at each corner.

12. Sand with 220-grit sandpaper.

13. Cut out a piece of sharkskin to fit in the middle of the two metal pieces.

14. Rivet pieces together with brass mini screws.
