Host Joan Steffend and designer Nadia Ramirez give a new homeowner's living room French flair.

The white walls are painted a deep robin's egg blue to begin the fanciful French design. A soft scalloped border is painted near the ceiling with a green colorwash. Gold paint is used to outline the design, which draws attention to the curves.

The windows are dressed with raspberry-hued sheers draped over gold fleur-de-lis tiebacks.

The off-white sofa is dressed up with new slipcovers on the bottom cushions and new pillow covers made out of pastel-colored checked fabric.

A discarded table base is paired with a new top and painted black to become a stylish new coffee table.
$47- Fabric Lamp
Ramirez creates a hanging lamp out of a lamp kit and soft flowing fabric. She assembles the lamp kit, cuts the fabric in a cone shape and attaches it with hot glue. Wire is attached to the top to hang it from the ceiling.
