Learn how easy it is to make a homemade propagator where you can watch your seeds begin to grow.
Ask an adult to help cut the plastic bottle in half. Use the scissors to also make a slit in the lid.
Insert a strip of cotton through the slit in the lid. This will work to wick moisture. Screw the lid on the top bottle part.
Add some water into the base part. Then, put the top bottle part upside down into it, making sure the water level covers the lid and the cotton wick.
Fill the top bottle part with soil. You are now ready to sow the seeds.
After sowing the seeds, cover with a small container. Make sure the container has holes punched in. Put the propagator in a warm and sunny place. If heavy rains are forecast, then be sure to put the container under cover. If you don't, then it will become waterlogged.
