The CoupleMegan and Dave want to have a romantic wedding that takes advantage of their friends' beautiful Tuscan villa-style backyard. This grounded relationship began two years ago in an unlikely place — a college bar. They hit it off right away and felt an instant connection when they started dating. Knowing that Megan is sentimental and loves to receive simple meaningful gifts, Dave proposed to her in a card. To Megan, it was the perfect proposal.
They hope one of the three designers can transform this yard into a Tuscan-style wedding. Find out if they choose Chris Clark's southern California spin on a Tuscan wedding, Diann Valentine's hip lounge meets Old World-style or Clay Storseth's conceptual idea to show the evolution of a wedding.
Before: Simple, but Elegant CourtyardAt first, they wanted to elope, but a friend offered the use of a beautiful backyard located in the posh Los Angeles neighborhood of Hancock Park. Megan and Dave would like their wedding design to play up the Tuscan villa style of the house and landscaping. In addition, they want the space to feel romantic and elegant yet casual. Beyond that, they don’t have any other ideas and are hoping one of the designers will help them create the look and feel they want.

After: Stunning Tuscan WeddingAfter looking over the three design plans, they chose Diann Valentine, the "Love Doctor," who specializes in high-end weddings for celebrity clientele. To make the transition from sunset wedding ceremony to hip outdoor evening lounge, lighting is crucial. Diann uses an elaborate lighting scheme to give splashes of color, heighten the romance of the space and create texture on flat surfaces like the pool and other walls.

Unique Altar BackdropThe altar is placed in front of the walled part of the fence, where a faux hedge acts as the backdrop. Potted manzanita branches, decorated with flowers and hanging glass votive globes, are placed in front of the hedges.
Reception for LoungingInstead of the traditional seating arrangement, Diann uses antique and Italian wooden furniture to create a casual lounge-like setting. The colors of the space are a blend of terracotta and green. Cocktail and dining tables dot the rest of the yard to make it easy for guests to mix and mingle.
Billowing Floral CenterpiecesOn the tables, the unique centerpieces are created by using tall Italian wood-carved candlesticks full of billowing floral arrangements and moss arrangements.
Tuscan-Inspired Wedding CakeIn the portico area, candles add warmth to the space, and the cake takes center stage on a platform built into the swimming pool. When the sun is set, the gorgeous lighting scheme Diann arranged highlights the beautiful architecture of the house and creates a warm and inviting party space.
