Designer Laurie March shows how to make easy, homemade salt dough letterpress ornaments for the holiday season.
Mix together flour, salt and water to create salt dough. Using a rolling pin, roll out dough approximately 1/4-inch thick on parchment paper.
Push cookie cutter letter stamp-side down so the letter indents into dough. Flip cookie cutter over and press down, cutting around dough. Peel away excess dough from letters.
Using the tip of a pencil, burrow a hole into the top of each letter for ornament hooks.
Bake ornaments for 3 hours at 200 degrees F. Then, remove from oven and let cool.
Use spray paint in desired color scheme to dress up letters. Then, use glitter glue pens to add extra sparkle and embellishment.
Allow ornaments to dry, then attach an ornament hook to the hole. Hang your handmade ornaments on the Christmas tree or embellish gifts for friends and family.
