Adorn your windows with soft and airy chiffon cafe curtains for a feel that's not too shabby and definitely chic.Maureen Stevens
Make a vertical cut on the fabric depending on the width desired. (We chose two-inch strips.) Note: For a shabby chic feel, choose something similar to white and ecru chiffon fabric.
Pull fabric apart from where you placed the cut until it makes a vertical strip. Create several strips.
Take one fabric strip and fold it in the middle. Make a loop and place under the tension rod (Image 1). Pull the long end of the fabric and tighten (Image 2, 3).
Repeat step 3 with several fabric strips until the tension rod is lined with chiffon fabric. The fabric should take up the width of the window where you will be displaying the cafe curtains.
Place the chiffon curtains at the window by holding the rod with one hand on each side and pushing toward the center to compress the tension spring. Place the rod into the opening and release your hands. Make sure the tension rod is in place and adjust as necessary. Note: We placed ours in a rustic kitchen window with vintage, paint-dipped bottles and fresh white carnations.
