Think beyond the tabletop this holiday season and create some fun and festive dining chair embellishments. All it takes is a handful of simple, holiday-themed craft store materials and a few dabs of hot glue.Layla Palmer, The Lettered Cottage
Starting and ending at the back of the chair, wrap a ribbon around the back of each dining chair two times. Tie loosely in the center of the chair, leaving a long length of ribbon on both sides.
Cut the ribbon on the bias a few inches up from the floor.
Tie a simple two-loop bow in the center of each chair. Tip: Turn the chair on its front to create a more stable and accessible work surface. Hot glue the back of the bow knot to the ribbon underneath it.
Use scissors to cut apart holiday picks floral picks, like faux greenery. Tip: Aim for an even mix of flat pieces (like greenery) and larger, 3-D pieces (such as pine cones or holly berries). Leave plastic stems attached; it will be easier to affix each piece to the ribbon.
Hot glue one flat holiday pick part to each ribbon, just beneath the bow.
Next, hot glue the larger holiday pick pieces atop the flat pieces. Tip: Glue larger pieces, like pine cones, on top of the center of the bow.
