Turn any odd, or old, unwanted wool mittens or gloves into these fun glove purses for children. Depending on the color of the glove, you could make a white snowman, a brown reindeer or a red Santa Claus bag. You could also fill the inside of the glove with some stuffing, sew up the cuff, add button features and attach a metal key ring hoop to turn it into a monster key ring.

Materials Needed:

  • unwanted or odd gloves
  • cotton thread and needle or sewing machine (optional)
  • scissors
  • small zipper
  • pins
  • recycled buttons or beads
  • odd scraps of felt, wool, ribbon or fabric

Step 1

Turn the glove inside out and sew along the bottom of each finger and the thumb (retain the pointer finger and pinkie finger if you want to create ears).

Step 2

Cut off each unwanted finger and the thumb with a pair of scissors about 1/4 inch away from the seam.

Turn the glove the right side out, then pin and sew the zipper into the rim of the cuff. Sew on buttons or beads for facial features.
