Before: Color-Less Bedroom
The bedroom has all the basics in place, but homeowner, Cheryl, needs a little pattern and more color to complete the space.
Designer Vanessa De Vargas starts with the windows, \"I think the window seems really bare with the plain white drapes and need some life. I suggest trading out the basic white drapes for panels in this fabric.\"
Waverly's Red Parterre Pillow Covers
\"Since you share your home with your husband and flower images are not his thing, then add some color with these pillows that have a more contemporary look to them,\" says De Vargas.
Decorative Designer Pillow Cover
De Vargas suggests mixing patterns that have the same size pattern to them. If there are too many patterns of different sizes, the room gets too busy.
Sky Blue Lumbar Pillow
\"Mix and match sizes of pillows like the large square ones with the bolster pillows for a layered bed look,\" says De Vargas.
\"The Uptown\" Print
\"I love these prints that you can get pre-stretched on canvas. The two I picked have little hints of red in them, perfect for the bedroom,\" says De Vargas.
\"The Red Balloon\" Print
De Vargas suggests searching Etsy for affordable prints and photos that provide a one-of-a-kind look. These prints bring in a vintage feel and warm up the room.
Imperial Trellis Designer Pillow
Add a punch of color to the chair in the corner with a blue-and-brown pillow in a graphic trellis pattern suggests De Vargas.
Classic Damask Vinyl Wall Graphics
To decorate over the bed, De Vargas suggests adding an element of fun with damask decals. It's easy to create a glamorous look for less with decals; plus, they can easily be switched out.
